Support The Show

Ahead of our fourth season, we launched The Carbon Removal Show Coalition: a distributed funding model that invites industry organisations to support the podcast so we can keep supporting the industry. This coalition has sustained an independent, evidence-led conversation about CDR that reaches thousands of listeners across the globe.

It's a critical moment for that conversation. Policy momentum is building, with the EU's first certification methodologies for permanent removals now in force and the UK committed to bringing removals into its Emissions Trading Scheme by the end of the decade. The market sits somewhere between uncertainty and opportunity: Microsoft's pause on new purchases this spring showed how concentrated the buyer base has been, just as buyers like JPMorganChase, ByteDance and Lego arrive to broaden it. Turning a market built by a handful of pioneers into something much wider depends on more people understanding what carbon removal is and why it matters, and that's where we can be most helpful.

We're now opening the coalition to new members to support Season 5. Read on to find out how to join!

"We aim to create a coalition of like-minded organisations and individuals committed to our shared goals and principles"

What We've Built

Since launching in October 2021, we've clocked 150,000 downloads and platformed over 95 of the most important voices in CDR, from founders and buyers to scientists, regulators and policy leads. Five years of consistent, independent work has compounded into a resource the industry actually uses:

A guide for policymakers. Policy and analyst teams increasingly use the show as a primer and sounding board.

A resource for developers. Carbon removal companies regularly come to us for guidance on framing and narrative.

A presence at the industry's key moments. We've hosted, moderated and contributed to events across the UK and Europe.

A bridge to wider audiences. We're informing the people building this industry while bringing in the people it needs next: sustainability professionals, policymakers, ESG leads, and climate-conscious individuals with no prior CDR background

How Can You Help?

We're inviting organisations to join us as Coalition Partners with a minimum pledge of £2,000 per year.

We want these partnerships to be collaborative and worthwhile for everyone involved. Our focus for this next phase is strengthening communication, fostering connection, and helping the wider industry thrive. All partners and supporters are making a statement of intent about the future of CDR, while helping us to make the podcast and deliver on our wider goals.

What Your Partnership Supports

Coalition funds cover our costs of production. After several years of producing the show we run lean, and we're confident we deliver good value for those supporting us.

Partner contributions also help fund the work that sits around the podcast: the policy contributions, media support for developers, and connecting events described above. Looking further ahead, we'd like coalition support to enable deeper policy engagement, broader public reach into demographics the industry doesn't typically get in front of, and more original journalism of the kind the industry relies on.

Goals & Principles

By joining the coalition and supporting The Carbon Removal Show,
Partners and Supporters will align themselves with these key values and contribute to a collective mission to drive scaling and positive impact in our industry.

The work we do and the content we make will always strive to:

● Enhance trust and transparency within the carbon removal industry.
● Grow the buyer market for carbon removal and educate potential buyers about the role that carbon removal might play in their net zero plans.
● Increase CDR literacy among publics and stakeholders.
● Advocate for supportive policy developments at national and international levels.

While doing this, we will affirm that:

● We believe that carbon removal technologies and deployments should be developed responsibly, ethically and sustainably.
● We believe that rapid and significant decarbonisation is necessary alongside carbon removal in order to achieve net zero goals.
● We believe that we must continue to be informed and led by the best evidence, be open to learning, and be honest about where knowledge gaps remain.
● We believe that all players in this space (including ourselves) have the responsibility to lead by example, and create the kind of industry we want to be part of.
